About Botanical Printing

Several years ago on a holiday in WA my interest in Botanical Printing was sparked with the purchase of a beautiful wool wrap.

After some research & several online courses I am now offering pieces for sale.

The technique uses fresh or dried leaves with natural dyes, natural metals & heat to fix a leaf print to either fabric or paper. There are no synthetic dyes or materials in the pieces on offer. I do, however use a small amount of plastic sheet at times to roll bundles for steaming - this I re-use multiple times.

Botanical printing is an unpredictable art, subject to leaf availability & seasonal changes so all pieces are truely unique.

Depending on the whim of nature I may have silk, wool, linen scarves & wraps available to purchase.

To care for a piece you should always ensure it is stored away from sunlight & hand washed in warm water with a gentle soap such as wool wash.

​

Similar techniques are also used to make Botanical Prints on paper, I may also have greeting cards available at times.
